Supply List

Erin’s motto is “start simple, stay simple.” This four-week course begins at the beginning, choosing one subject (the apple) to observe and explore in line, color, shape and tone.

Each week Erin will present a 20 minute demo clearly explaining each step of taking a painting from beginning to end.  Each session will grow in complexity, as one apple is joined by a second, and then a third, and so on.

In this course, Erin will focus on:

  • design and drawing
  • composition
  • harmonious color-mixing,
  • the value of values.

Each session will build your skills toward greater confidence and ease with not just apples but ANY subject.

Designed with the beginning painter in mind, this workshop is also helpful for experienced artists wanting to revitalize and re-energize their studio practice.

Each session will include a live demo, with clear and detailed step-by-step instructions, along with inspirational images, life hacks for carving out more creative time, and simple suggestions for better painting.  Subjects like color-mixing, mediums, brush-cleaning and brush-handling will be explored.

Each session will end with a Q & A.

Each week, you will post your work to a private group message board hosted on Winslow Art’s website and receive feedback and suggestions for improvement.

Erin will demonstrate in oils. Students are encouraged to work in oils or acrylics.
