David Mensing – The Illusion of Light Demo (Recording) – Free!

In this exciting 1-hour demonstration, David Mensing will share some of the techniques that he uses to create the illusion of light in his work. Starting with a painting of flat, dark tree trunks, David will show how he applies diffused light, reflected light and highlights to transform his painting.

David Mensing‘s paintings are featured in collections and exhibitions across the nation and around the globe. He grew up in Iowa, surrounded by wide prairies and carefully groomed cornfields.  When he moved to The West as a young man, he was captivated by its raw beauty. Mensing’s ambition is to know and share that beauty through his work.  For Dave, each painting is a statement – his architectural background contributes to his compelling designs and he is careful to select titles that reflect the character and spiritual basis of the work. 

David Mensing lives in Sisters, Oregon with his wife and their three children.
