Palette knife paintings can be extraordinarily deep and expressive. A fine painting done with a palette knife is rich and tactile and something like a two-dimensional sculpture. Unfortunately, palette knife painting can also be challenging. Many artists would go so far as to call it frustrating.
If you have experienced some of the inevitable struggles of palette knife painting, this online course is for you. Join David Mensing for ‘PALETTE KNIFE PAINTING DEEP-DIVE,’ an exciting and insightful crash-course in fine painting and fun with a palette knife. Look forward to concentrated instruction designed to encourage and inspire you in your work with a palette knife.
This course is intended for any artist that has worked with a palette knife in the past who would like to dive deeper and grow in confidence in all aspects of the medium. Attention to certain key principles of palette knife painting can accelerate growth as an artist. Even modest growth in these areas can have profound impact on overall quality of work. An artist of any skill level that is willing to delve into knife technique, strengths/limitations, and personal expression is poised to make significant improvement in their work.
Throughout this workshop, expect to enjoy group instruction and demonstration with assigned exercises and ample group and individual critique. At the conclusion of the course, you will have new tools and a new outlook to take your paintings to the next level.
David Mensing‘s paintings are featured in collections and exhibitions across the nation and around the globe. He grew up in Iowa, surrounded by wide prairies and carefully groomed cornfields. David Mensing lives in Sisters, Oregon with his wife and their three children.
