Join David Mensing for an exciting and insightful clinic that will teach you to be loose and spontaneous in your approach to representational paintings.
Many artists want their work to look more dynamic and immediate, but find it frustrating to achieve. While painting loosely can be challenging, there is no better way to create deep, expressive compositions. This four-week course will cover aesthetic principles for loose painting, specific tools and techniques, and a new mindset that is critical for intentional spontaneity. Attention to certain key principles of painting can accelerate growth for artists of all skill levels. As we delve into the wonders and challenges of spontaneous painting, you will also develop a deeper appreciation and understanding of intensities, composition, movement, texture and light temperature.
Throughout this online course, expect to enjoy group instruction and demonstration with assigned exercises to be completed between classes. At the conclusion of the course, you will have a better understanding of the virtues of immediate painting as well as discipline to achieve a spontaneous appearance. As a result, you will be poised to make significant improvement and to find greater satisfaction in your work.
