Feeling sluggish in the studio? Don’t know where to begin? Do you fear the blank white page/canvas?
Here’s a demo that will warm up your studio practice, like a good cuppa or the perfect chai. Daniella will walk you through some easy exercises that will inspire you to look at that blank page with anticipation and happiness, and show you how the variations just keep coming.
You are welcome to work along with her….paper, blue painters tape, whatever paints, drawing tools, materials you want to play with.
Her favorite question is “What if I?”…or “How about I do it this way?” These exercises lead to working in series, discovering new ways to look at what you have to work with, and how much fun you can have.
You will see how constraints enhance creativity.

Daniella Woolf is an artist living in the seacoast town of Santa Cruz, California. She holds an M.A. in Design from UCLA with the sub category Textile Structures. She primarily focuses on paper, pattern, and is currently experiencing a renewed interest in painting. Her work is exhibited internationally and is in many collections and publications. She is the author of two books, Encaustic With a Textile Sensibility and The Encaustic Studio, and has produced many instructional DVDs. She designs for Stencil Girl Products.
She adores teaching, and has inspired many students in the US, internationally and online. She is the recipient of the Rydell Award and Gail Rich Award.
