Supply List

This two-day intensive workshop will focus on the two challenges of starting a painting outdoors, on location; composition set up and color mixing. The first day we will discuss composition. I will take you through observational processes such as using a view finder to frame composition, establishing a tonal design, and using gesture to connect light across a scene. The second day will be focused on the palette. We will organize a working palette that supports all your design decision. Topics will include using a palette knife to create large mixtures, using color to create space and atmosphere, and wet-into-wet brushwork. This intensive is for all skill levels and is relevant no matter your view!
