Supply List

Explore the art of flower painting in this 4-week oil painting class! Flowers provide endless inspiration for painters – but they can be immensely challenging, too! This class is designed to help you simplify and capture the beauty of flowers with clarity and intention. Each week, we will focus on a different flower, diving into its unique characteristics while honing essential painting techniques.

Catherine Bobkoski’s approach emphasizes a structured approach to painting, starting with construction and gesture. You will learn how to establish clear value shapes to define your composition and bring a sense of dimension to your work. By using limited color palettes, you’ll learn to create harmony in your painting and experiment with different methods of paint handling—whether layering, scumbling, or creating expressive brushstrokes—allowing you to develop a tactile, dynamic surface that reflects the life and movement of flowers.

By the end of the course, you’ll feel more confident in your ability to tackle any flower subject with a strong foundation in design, texture, and color control. All experience levels are welcome.
