Unleash your creative energy in this intensive, hands-on painting workshop led by the vibrant and encouraging Carol Maguire, an artist celebrated for her bold, lively, and colorful work. In this boot camp, you’ll be pushed to break boundaries, build confidence, and take your art to the next level. Through continuous practice and a focus on values, color and mark making, Carol will guide you to infuse your paintings with strength and freshness—leaving behind details and embracing the freedom of expressive strokes. Each week Carol will demo an exercise and then invite you to do the exercise along with her. This workshop isn’t for the timid, we will not be making paintings but it’s the perfect environment to grow as an artist, with Carol’s supportive, dynamic teaching style always lifting you up. Expect to leave with a renewed sense of direction, inspiration and joy in your art.

Carol Maguire holds a Bachelor’s in Art History from Fairfield University and the Sorbonne, she has furthered her studies at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, the Barnes Foundation and Fleisher Memorial. Her passion results in painterly works saturated with color and joie de vivre. Inspired by a love for color, textiles and gardening, her work focuses on objects that surround her daily life. She is represented at galleries in North Carolina, Delaware, New York and in Massachusetts on Cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard.

About Our Online Classes:

  • This class is taught live via Zoom. To take this class, you need a microphone and camera enabled computer OR an iPad /smart tablet OR a smart phone (android or IOS) and a strong internet connection.
  • You will have access to a private class message board on our website where you can share work, comment and ask questions. (Exact use of the message board, critique of student work and general class format is at the discretion of the instructor, please check course description for details.)
  • Class will be recorded and recordings expire 60 days after the final day of the course.
  • Participants will receive an email with the Zoom link and class details 5-7 days before the class starts (don’t forget to check your junk folder).
