This portrait demonstration will focus on capturing a child’s portrait in oil. We will focus on painting on top of a preliminary drawing as the foundation of the piece before the paint is applied. Olivares will give pointers and tips for capturing the form of a child through, value, color, edges and mark making. While demonstration will be done in oil, the principles carry over to multiple media.
