This adult class provides a solid foundation for the beginning painter or a refresher in basics for the intermediate painter.  Through a series of assignments, the group will go over topics to include:

  1. How to expand your color sense by using a limited palette
  2. Using value plans as a method for deciding what to paint
  3. Color bocking to simplify shapes and approach your subject from the abstract
  4. Collage assemblage for understanding abstract design
  5. Methods and tools for taking a plein air sketch to a studio painting

Since this is a remote session using ZOOM, the class will meet weekly to go over the assigned homework then discuss the next topic.  Painting time will take place between class so there will be an outside commitment of no more than 3-5 hours each week.  Plenty of robust live discussion/critique and recorded demo videos on each assignment. This is primarily for oil painters but acrylic and gouache are also accepted.
