Discover ways to connect colors in your art to provide balance, lead the eye, build relationships, and communicate feeling in your sketches.
Color is a powerful tool for every artist, especially expressive ones. Color is used to create space, convey ideas and feelings, and to organize compositions. In this class, you will practice creating color connections that will make your figures, landscapes and still life sketches even more convincing and cohesive. Each class will focus on different color strategies, including rhythm and movement, figure to ground relationships, and eliciting sensations and feelings through color dominance.
You’ll work in a sketchbook using a variety of wet and dry media, including gouache, watercolor, water-soluble crayons, pencils and conté crayon.
This class is open to all levels, with some drawing experience recommended.
