In this three-week class with award-winning artist Anton Nowels, students will explore the use of contrast in developing dynamic landscape paintings and discover how its use helps to generate movement, clarity and emotional force. Through bold value design, charged color relationships and intentional shifts in scale and edge, participants will learn to replace excess detail with decisive structure.
Rooted in plein air foundations and infused with contemporary boldness through abstraction, this course emphasizes simplifying, amplifying and editing. The result is work that feels dynamic, unified, and alive with energy.
