Joan Mitchells monumental expressive abstracts from the mid 20th century were inspired by nature, Her energetic and colorful works are beloved for their free and intiuitive style. In this class, learn techniques such as building texture, layering color and dripping on canvas. Examples of her work will be shared and discussed. You will begin your practice with studies mixed from a limited palette of primaries and white in the first class as an exercise to create a final larger work in the last two classes. Be prepared to explore this lively process of painting!
