Art has been a guiding constant for Anne Wolfer since childhood. Born in Salt Lake City and raised in coastal Connecticut, Anne has always found solace in nature. Whether hiking or sailing on Long Island Sound, she has long been captivated by the shifting light and color of the outdoors.
Anne earned her BA from the University of Utah before spending a decade in San Francisco working in educational publishing, all while maintaining a dedicated artistic practice. Living abroad in Vienna and Munich, surrounded by centuries of art and architecture, further fueled her artistic growth. Returning to Utah, she studied with several respected professional artists, further developing both her painting and her passion for teaching.
For the past ten years, Anne has been an influential visual arts educator at Rowland Hall, while also teaching private and group lessons in her Salt Lake City studio. Her contemporary painting style strikes a balance between dimensionality and abstraction, and she is known for her expressive use of color, light, and mark-making. Anne’s work is held in private collections across the U.S. and internationally, and she is proudly represented by 15th Street Gallery in Salt Lake City.
