Art Studio Tours with Sharon Grader & Victoria Foster Harrison (Recording) – Free!

Date recorded: Wednesday, March 24, 202
Medium: Mixed Media

Join Victoria and Sharon as they give you a tour of their studios. Victoria’s teaching and working studio is large while Sharon’s small studio is a converted bedroom; both a challenge to keep in order. They will share their favorite ways of organizing art supplies, and methods of thinking behind their arrangements. Includes “Top 10 Items We Can’t Live Without,” along with additional resources.

Sharon Grader

Exploration and experimentation are major elements of her artistic journey of discovery. She is an abstract encaustic painter drawn to the elemental aspects of molten wax. She often works with found objects, dyed silk, rusted paper, encaustic monoprinting, watercolor, oil, and pastels. She is fascinated with the creative process and the constant wonder that surprises her every day. Her work is disciplined, yet free and unexpected, calm and thought provoking. She is a graduate of the Artist Trust Edge program and a member of Women Painters of Washington. You can find her work at the Lynn Hanson Gallery, Pioneer Square, Seattle. https://www.sharon-bill-grader.com

Victoria Foster Harrison

An Encaustic Printmaker (creating one-of-a-kind monotypes with beeswax and paper), Victoria embraces the wabi-sabi theory of “perfectly imperfect” in her urban collages and contemporary landscapes. A right brain – left brain thinker, her work is a combination of active detail along with calm atmospheric fields of soft rustic texture. Displayed on cradled panels, her collage work often incorporates the original monotypes along with photographs on silk organza, paper ephemera, mark-making, calligraphic strokes and book spines. She is a working artist and teaches out of her home studio in Port Townsend, WA. Victoria is represented by the Grover Gallery in Port Townsend and also at the Bainbridge Arts & Crafts Gallery on Bainbridge Island, WA. https://www.curlygirlartstudio.com
