Join 13brokenhorses (Brian McPhee) for a three week on-line landscape painting class, for painters of all levels.
Participants work from their own photo reference material ,of landscape or cityscape images.Reference can be from images taken from recent trips or favourite locations.
Working in small sketchbooks, the participants will be guided through three steps: simplification of the subject (reducing composition to basic shapes), identifying values (light and dark) and addressing local colour. These small full colour paintings can be the first step in creating strong compositions for a bigger painting.Participants will learn how to simplify a composition to fit a small sketchbook format.
Students will work in acrylic or gouache. All levels welcome.
