Artist Brian McPhee (13brokenhorses) will take participants back to the beginning: Creating strong compositions by arranging shapes and establishing value relationships (light to dark) in their paintings.Value is the building-block to creating form with representational imagery.
Participants will work in black and white acrylic paints, using their own simple still-life arrangements as the focus of each painting. Demonstrations will be given explaining how to paint objects having metallic and glass surfaces, amongst others.
A simple two step approach will be explained and demonstrated each week.Painting will be done very directly with one brush to simplify process. The course is suitable for painters of all levels.
