Imagine being in a supportive atmosphere where your creativity takes a giant leap forward! This is an opportunity to work with simplicity, contrast, and constraint. You will notice that limiting the tools or materials you use will enhance your creativity. We begin by making grids which can be done in multiples. We will make origami boats, repeat patterns, stamps and stencils. One of the advantages of working in this way is that it is easy to scale up to form large works. It also helps to pack less supplies when traveling! You will be able to ship small and install large. All of these exercises are designed to work together. You’ll find abstraction in the tiniest pieces of paper, and just might be introduced to some new materials or tools. We will make art primarily out of paper in 2D or 3D. You will learn new ways to approach your art making, and just might be able to kiss your inner critic good bye!
