This online four-week still life painting course focuses on developing expressive paintings through a strong understanding of color, value, and edges. Students will explore how to keep a painting fresh and alive by avoiding overworking and learning not to become overly precious with details. Through guided demonstrations, discussions, and critiques, the course emphasizes decision-making – knowing when to push forward, when to stop, and when stepping away can provide new insight. The goal of this class is to build both technical skill and intuitive judgment, helping students build confidence as they create dynamic, resolved paintings.
Open to all levels and suitable for oil and acrylic painters.
