Medium: Printmaking
In this two-session workshop, we will explore the possibilities of trace monotype with imagery inspired by Cy Twombly. This printmaking method involves placing a sheet of paper over an inked surface on which you can draw or trace an image, creating a unique, one-of-a-kind print. A printing press is not required and few supplies are needed. Ann will cover drawing both freehand and using an existing drawing or photo, creating varied tones and marks, using multiple colors, and combining trace monotype with other media. Cy Twombly’s mark making is a perfect complement to trace monotype. His joyful scribbles will inspire us to let go and express the feeling of a place or subject rather than capture its likeness.
