The daughter of an architect, Janet has childhood memories of sketching houses and building views with her family. She can recall moments, covering paper-mats in diners with black-inked sketches, figuring out perspective or more interestingly—imaginary houses.
Janet continues to paint the building subject, and finds inspiration in architectural details and how the light and shadow produces interesting angles on a building structure. She lives in a neighborhood where the buildings are over 100 years old and when the light falls ‘just right’ on one of these old relics, Janet jumps in.
Janet will share imagery for inspiration, what she’s looking for in a composition, and finding ‘the story’ in an architectural subject.
She will share footage to show her process.
