Nina Antze – Creating Form in Colored Pencil: Drawing a Spring Flower (Recording)

Join botanical artist Nina Antze to discover how to create value and form using colored pencil. Using the techniques of layering, blending, and burnishing, Nina will demonstrate painting the vibrant colors of the California Poppy. Follow along with a flower from your garden and learn some basics of colored pencil painting.

Nina Antze is a botanical artist and quiltmaker living in Sonoma County. She has a degree in Fine Art from San Francisco State University and has a Certificate in Botanical Illustration from the New York Botanical Gardens. She recently studied with Sarah Simblet at the Ruskin School of Art in Oxford, England. She teaches Colored Pencil at the Sebastopol Center for the Arts, Santa Rosa Junior College, the San Francisco Botanical Gardens, Point Reyes, around the Bay Area and in Southern California. Nina is a member of the Northern California Society of Botanical Artists, the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators, and the Colored Pencil Society of America. Her Chinese Snake-bark Maple has been accepted in the deYoung Open at the deYoung Museum in San Francisco.
