Capture the essence of place with this 3-week session of Abstracting the Landscape. We’ll consider how simplifying the subject matter in our reference images communicates a stronger sensation of place. Specific areas of study will focus on color harmony, shape relationships, and luminosity.

Each session will start with a presentation/demonstration, followed by a series of painting exercises. Students will be able to show their work online for group discussions.
