Achieving your best composition can be a daunting and illusive pursuit. Learn the art of honing an idea by creating multiple studies and versions of a scene. Using grey scale value markers and a sketchbook, students will learn to identify the options they have for the best tonal arrangement for their future painting. Key topics include, the planes and how they effect values. Keying a scene based on the quality of light. Making creative changes that support our main idea. The class will focus on building up our ideas before we start to paint, thus increasing our chances at creating a successful painting.
