Learn colored pencil basics in this two-day class with mixed media artist Susan Wiersema. Susan will review materials, strokes and mark-making, collapsing, paint application, composition, and design, then guide you in expanding on your new skills as you create a colored pencil mixed media piece combining collage, paint, and ink. No experience is needed, just an open mind ready to get creative.
Susan Wiersema earned a BFA from the California State University of San Bernardino with a major in Photographic Arts and a minor in Graphic Arts. After graduating she worked a number of jobs including photographic printer and retoucher, photographer, framer, exhibit designer and docent for NASA. She also worked for Daniel Smith, where she learned all about art materials and supplies. Susan worked for Bainbridge Arts and Crafts for ten years where she hung artwork, designed exhibitions and window displays, and showed her work.
