We can sense when a painting feels “harmonious” …but why? This 2-week class dives into the theory behind color harmony. By working through a series of exercises and example paintings, we will explore various color strategies to evoke visual harmony in our painting.

This class is open to oil, acrylic, gouache, and casein painters.

Isolating color strategies in the class exercises and paintings will positively impact on painters of all levels and genres.

Scott Gellatly holds a degree in painting and drawing from the University of Oregon and has exhibited his work in solo and group exhibitions throughout the United States. A landscape painter at heart, Scott’s work has become more abstracted, with greater emphasis on pure color and gestural mark-making to evoke nature.

Scott is an Oregon native and lives in Portland with his family. www.scottgellatly.com
