Class Description
Being organized is incredibly important in every field, and even more so in a creative sphere. This lesson will dispel the myth of a disorganized artist. It is only when you have complete control over your files, artwork and inventory you are become more efficient, focused and ultimately, more successful.
In this 1.5 hour presentation we will discuss:
1) Creating a filing system for your images
2) Using an art inventory database
The latter is an inventory system Yana created to keep track of her own paintings, drawing on her programming experience. A Computer Information Science major, she worked for an internet startup out of college, designing database systems.
Yana will demonstrate how she uses the spreadsheet, including the pricing calculation. Students will be given access to a sample inventory spreadsheet, from which they will be able to create their own inventories.
