Aaron M. Thompson – (Strategies for Working with) the Limited Color Palette

Join Aaron Thompson for a 1 hour demonstration in which he describes strategies for working with limited color palettes. Aaron will discuss how to recognize the differences of color theory versus a pigment’s abilities, how a limited palette can offer surprising combinations, and how limitations of color can create rewarding cohesion within your paintings.
Aaron Michael Thompson is a professional painter whose Paintings and Drawings have been exhibited in Samuel M. V. Hamilton Museum at The Pennsylvania academy of the Fine Art. Represented by Drawing Room Gallery in Greenwich Ct., as well as Private collections. A native of Charleston, South Carolina. Earned his BFA in Illustration, from Savannah College of Art and Design. After being awarded The Merit Scholarship from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, moved to Philadelphia where he earned the Masters Degree in Painting. Attended the Barnes Artist Residency in Umbria, Italy during the month of July 2014. Currently an Full Time Assistant Professor at the Pennsylvania College of Art and Design, working for Gamblin Artist Colors as an Educational Lecturer of Visual Arts, and continues a practice in Lancaster, PA.
