Do you struggle with creating a distinctive and confident composition with your landscape that then allows you to take off and use liberated stroke and color?
This four-session workshop will focus on one image per week, and we will work together to create a strong background to your landscapes, simplifying passages and shapes so that you can stay out of unnecessary details that deplete the impact of your paintings.
Amy will demonstrate a painting each week, using landscape images from southern Maine. Participants will select images of their own, based on instruction on creating an appealing image from your phone/camera and turning into a dynamic painting. Feedback will be offered for each assignment via the private page. Demos will be conducted in oil, but participants can use oil or acrylic for painting.
Amy Brnger, from Eliot, Maine, has painted still life, flowers, interiors and landscape for as long as she has been an artist. She enjoys painting flowers from her garden, interior views of her home, and forgotten, overlooked landscape views.
Amy attended the University of New Hampshire for painting and then earned degrees in counseling and adventure. She now works as a full time artist. Amy won an Elizabeth Greenshields award twice, and has completed public and private commissions. She is represented by galleries in Maine, New Hampshire, Cape Cod, and Virginia. In addition to painting, she has a paperworks business and teaches painting workshops nationally, internationally and online. amybrnger.com
