This workshop embraces the practice of keeping a sketchbook, daily, or almost daily. Together we’ll draw from observation and practice using different sketchbook layouts to make an impression of the day. We’ll talk about how a sketchbook can be used as a journal to record your impressions about your daily life, trips, and events. We’ll practice visual story-telling techniques and how to make your sketchbook pages organized and appealing all while learning ways to make fast and decisive drawings. All levels welcome, demos will be in pen and marker.

Lisa Daria Kennedy grew up along the northeast edge of the Hockomock Swamp in Massachusetts. She received her BA from Roger Williams University in Graphic Design, a BFA from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Illustration and an MFA from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 2D.  Kennedy creates product designs and surface illustrations for the international giftware industry. She is affiliated with Roger Williams University in Bristol, RI as the Design Editor for the literary publication, Mount Hope and is an Assistant Professor at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston, MA. www.lisadariakennedy.com
