Explore the basic techniques needed to create beautiful, finished watercolor paintings from your photo. We’ll experiment with washes, gradients, glazes, and textures. We’ll learn to stretch our paper, compose and strategize a procedure for a 15” x 22” (1/2 sheet) painting of your chosen subject, and learn about masking to save the white of the paper. We’ll cover the importance of values and analysis of color to help with mixing. You’ll be equipped and learn the whole process to be ready to continue creating new paintings on your own.
