Join Debora Stewart and explore the use of abstraction with more realistic subjects like figures, faces, flowers and landscapes. Demonstrations will be in soft pastel but acrylic artists are welcome, Each week a thorough demonstration will be provided and participants may work along with Debora as she creates each subject. Photos will be provided and participants may use their own as well. Debora will address how underpainting helps to abstract the subject, color choices, pastel application and composition and more. The final session will include ways to evaluate your work and progress onto the next stage.
Debora Stewart is a Signature Member and a Master Pastellist of the Pastel Society of America and a member of the Master’s Circle of the International Association of Pastel Societies. She is also the author of a Northlight book titled Abstract Art Painting: Expressions in Mixed Media and a series of videos on abstract painting from Northlight TV.
