Our live online classes are taught via Zoom. Students have the opportunity to interact with the instructor and other participants, watch live demos and receive feedback and instruction. You will have access to a class chat forum where you can share work, comment and ask questions. Once you’ve enrolled, you’ll receive instructions about how to access the class.

To take this class, you need a microphone and camera enabled computer OR an IPad /smart tablet OR a smart phone (android or IOS) and a strong internet connection.

This 4 week course will cover from the basic fundamentals of color to advanced and expressive application of color in your painting.

Week 1: Intro to Color, Color Charts, Relationship between Hue, Saturation, Value and Color Temperature.

Week 2: 7 Different approaches to color, Local Color, Color Theory, Personal Color, Expressive Color, Imagination and Memory, Full Color Seeing and Symbolic color.

Week 3: Color Relationship, Comparing and contrasting Hue, Saturation and Value.

Week 4: Light and Shadow, Light sources, Light and Shadow Pattern, behavior of color under different lighting conditions.

There will be a 20-30 minute lecture at the beginning of every class followed by a 30-45 minute demonstration. After a short break, students will start their hands on exercise for 30-45 minutes. We will end the class with a short critique.
