Discover specific art techniques that you can ‘take away’  from some of your favorite artists and apply to your own work. Each one and a half hour presentation will showcase a different process that each of these artists incorporates in their daily art practice.  Instruction will be through a combination of lecture and demonstration by the artists.

Our Technique Takeaways are presented live via Zoom. Participants will have the opportunity to interact with the instructor via the Zoom chat box and will have access to the recorded session for 30 days. You will receive a Zoom meeting link and passcode the day before the talk. To take part, you will need a camera enabled computer OR an IPad/smart tablet OR a smart phone (android or IOS) and a strong internet connection.

Description:

Explore the creative use of light and shadow patterns and discover how to incorporate the three value concept into your painting to create a sense of light. Yong will discuss the process of simplification, staging an effective composition, color relationship with values, designing light and shadow patterns. All the concepts will be discussed step-by-step and demonstrated using watercolor. These concepts are applicable to other media as well.
