This demo/talk is part of our Technique Takeaway series.
Date: Friday, October 23, 2020
Time: 2:00-3:30PM PDT
Discover specific art techniques that you can ‘take away’ from some of your favorite artists and apply to your own work. Each one and a half hour presentation will showcase a different process that each of these artists incorporate in their daily art practice. Instruction will be through a combination of lecture and demonstration by the artists.
Our Technique Takeaways are presented live via Zoom. Participants will have the opportunity to interact with the instructor via the Zoom chat box and will have access to the recorded session for two weeks. You will receive a Zoom meeting link and passcode the day before the talk. To take part, you will need a camera enabled computer OR an IPad/smart tablet OR a smart phone (android or IOS) and a strong internet connection.
Tracy Everly is known for beautiful mark making in her work. Join her to discover how she uses nontraditional tools to create a variety of marks that achieve fresh, dynamic oil paintings. Tracy uses an assortment of unique, unexpected tools – brayers, squeegees, wire brushes, pottery tools, oil pencils, palette knives and more – to communicate with the viewer. Watch her demonstrate an array of uses and outcomes for these implements and discover how to use them in an organic, non-formulaic manner. Sometimes traditional brush and palette knife work are just not enough!
Tracy Everly is an award-winning painter. She has studied occasionally at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, but she is also largely self-taught, having put together her own educational path held together by dogged determination and love of art.
