Our live online classes are taught via Zoom. Students have the opportunity to interact with the instructor and other participants, watch live demos and receive feedback and instruction. Painting outdoors in the open air can be frustrating and overwhelming, even for the most experienced painter. In this live online course, Tim Deibler will break down the landscape into easy to grasp pieces, teaching you to see the entire picture as a series of shapes, values and colors. The emphasis will be on simplifying the landscape down to its most important visual information. Working quickly and accurately from photos of nature, you will look at different elements of the landscape-evergreen and deciduous trees, rocks, rivers, lakes, mountains, clouds and sky- to create small studies. The final goal will be to put all of these pieces together to create a finished painting.

At the end of the first 2 days, you will be given an assignment to complete over the next few days.  On April 22, the class will reconvene for a group critique and discussion, followed by a 2-hour demo by Tim Deibler.
