Learn ways to sharpen your art skills (tools) and keep them sharp in order to help you produce the best possible results in your artwork. With tools sharpened, your work will seem almost effortless. Steve Putrich’s demonstrations will focus on the concept of sharpening four areas in our painting tool kit, then look at how to put them all together.

Steve Puttrich is a unique combination of award winning artist in oil and watercolor, and an inspiring and successful teacher.  He understands how people learn and what is needed to inspire confidence and build skills in artistry. In Steve’s workshops, you’ll learn at your own pace in building skills and mastery.

Steve will challenge you to ask more Why?, What if?, and How come? questions about your scenes, and soon you’ll be pushing the boundaries of what is truly important and what can, with a little simplification and embellishment, be an excellent piece.

Five Week Outline:

Week 1: Selection – Invest time to select and create a compelling design
Week 2: Focus – Focus on seeing and painting the planes, forms and shapes of your objects
Week 3: Simplification – Apply simplicity to your shapes. Eliminate shapes and elements that don’t add value
Week 4:  Embellishment – Use embellishment to exaggerate elements that help your center of interest be the hero
Week 5: Wrapping it all up – Use all we’ve learned to pull together the best art possible.
