Our live online classes are taught via Zoom. Students have the opportunity to interact with the instructor and other participants, watch live demos and receive feedback and instruction. You will have access to a class chat forum on our website where you can share work, comment and ask questions. You will also have access to recordings of the class that will expire 30 days after the final day of the course.

To take this class, you need a microphone and camera enabled computer OR an iPad /smart tablet OR a smart phone (android or IOS) and a strong internet connection.

This five-week class will focus on a different aspect of painting each week. Drawing on over sixty-five years of experience, award-winning artist Ned Mueller will walk students through the steps for building a painting, from taking and choosing reference photos to composition to final completion. Learn techniques for drawing and design and discover Ned’s approach to value and color studies. Instruction will be primarily through demos and lectures. Weekly critique will be done via the class group message board where students will submit their work. The final week, Ned will do a live, in-depth critique of students’ work.

Ned Mueller is an accomplished and highly respected artist with over sixty-five years of drawing and painting. He is the only Artist in the Northwest that has been designated as a “Master Artist” with both the Oil Painters of America and the American Impressionist Society.  He is a graduate of the prestigious Art Center School of Design in Los Angeles. He has participated in numerous major invitational shows in the country, has shown in some of the Finest Galleries in the country and has won numerous awards and is included in many private fine art collections. He is a Signature member of the Oil Painters of America, American Impressionist Society, Plein Air Painters of America. California Art Club, Northwest Pastel Society, Puget Sound Group of Northwest Artists, Northwest Rendezvous Group, and the American Society of Marine Artists. He continues to challenge himself to grow artiscally.
