Date: Mondays, October 4-25, 2021
Time: 9:30 AM-12:00 PM Pacific Standard Time (12:30-3:00 PM Eastern Time)
In this four-week online course, we will discuss about how to source and arrange objects for a still life in an original but meaningful way.Special consideration will be given to composition both within its elusive rules and counterintuitive solutions. Our attention to “objects” will also be on the object-painting, as in making our canvas into an object that is evocative but also present in reality through its interesting surface. Students will be encouraged to produce a number of paintings in different formats. Although I will be demoing in oils, the course is open to students working in other mediums.
