Explore urban watercolor sketch techniques using pencil, pen, and watercolor online with Ian de Hoog. Delve into sketching, color mixing, and watercolor techniques to add to your creative toolbox in this four-week course. Participants will focus on finding their individual style while capturing the essence of an urban scene.

Ian de Hoog is a Canadian artist and teacher working primarily in watercolour. He is an active member of the South Surrey and White Rock Arts Society, Semiahmoo Arts Society and the Federation of Canadian Artists. As an instructor, Ian is a frequent contributor to the Visiting Artists series for the Opus Arts Supply chain in British Columbia and is a watercolour instructor at the Shadbolt Centre for Fine Arts in Burnaby, BC. In addition to this Ian has also travelled throughout BC to give various workshops and demonstrations to different art groups and societies.

About Our Online Classes:

  • Our live online classes are taught via Zoom. To take this class, you need a microphone and camera enabled computer OR an iPad /smart tablet OR a smart phone (android or IOS) and a strong internet connection.
  • Interact with the instructor and other participants, watch live demos and receive feedback and instruction. You will have access to a class chat forum on our website where you can share work, comment and ask questions.
  • Class will be recorded and recordings expire 30 days after the final day of the course.
