Learn techniques that award-winning watercolorist Dale Popovich uses to add texture and depth to his paintings with the use of one simple tool- the toothbrush. The toothbrush is a viable texture maker, from applying and lifting paint to softening edges. Dale will demonstrate how he uses this everyday item in different ways during his painting process-on wet, dry, or even semi-wet surfaces-to create varying effects and will share his secrets for experimentation.
Dale Popovich is an award-winning watercolorist and teacher who is passionate about capturing the raw beauty of the American landscape with the fluid stroke of a brush. Trained at The American Academy of Art in Chicago by the former Director and President, Irving Shapiro, AWS, he was deeply inspired by this great American twentieth-century watercolorist. Dale has been teaching professionally since 1978. One of his passions is to teach people to truly see.
